SAME SEX: Female Charged with Raping Female Roommate at Susquehanna University
Police said a woman was charged for allegedly raping her female roommate at a Pennsylvania university. Pratigya Thakur, a 19-year-old sophomore, was arrested Monday on charges of rape, indecent assault and harassment in connection with the alleged May 16 attack at the school in Selinsgrove. The alleged victim told police she awoke to find Thakur “on top of her straddling her” before grabbing her hands and placing them on her roommate’s breasts. The roommate notified university officials about the alleged rape May 29 and reported the incident to police June 6. She said both she and Thakur drank alcohol and smoked marijuana before the alleged attack. A Police Officer said, “She’s been charged, and she was arraigned.
