LAWSUIT: Due to Lauren Aycock’s False TIX Claims, Cornell Denies Male his Ph.D.

Cornell is withholding a Ph.D. from Yogesh Patil for the crime of allegedly defending his professor. Patil was days away from receiving his Ph.D. in physics. His family was traveling from his native India to beautiful Ithaca, New York, to be there for the ceremony. This was a huge achievement and a glorious day for Mr. Patil and his family. Except there was a more important value at stake for Cornell University than Patil’s degree. A TIX complaint filed by physics student Lauren Aycock. Lauren had previously accused Patil’s advisor and physics Prof. Vengalattore of sexual assault. (One of Lauren’s allegations against Vengalattore included that he left her “middle initial” off her name in an author list, which constituted “sexual harassment”) Lauren is not accusing Patil of sexual misconduct, but she is alleging that Patil retaliated against her for making a “good faith” sexual misconduct report against Vengalattore. Lauren’s TIX complaint against Patil caused Cornell to determine “three days before he was slated to graduate,” to withhold his PhD. Today, Yogesh Patil is at risk of getting sent back to India as the Title IX office investigates a Title IX retaliation claim against him…  Apparently Cornell is not dissuaded by a third of its law school faculty going to court to force Cornell to follow its own Title IX  rules.  “I don’t think they have the right to abuse a Ph.D. student like this and I think they are allowing an abuse of the TitleIX system.” Former Cornell physics professor Mr. Schwab.
